On the social agenda were the traditional Sadie Hawkins parties, the Carnival of Hearts, at which Ruth Tuthill and Clark Hungerford were elected king and queen, the spring picnic, and the final dinner dance. Family A6iUf.f0l'.f ......., The Golden Circle Club, in the second year of its life, is still proving to be a successful social club for the married students of TCC. To most of the stu- dents of the college it is probably still known by its first adopted name of Married Vets Club. Unlike most college social clubs the Golden Circle did not cease activities during the summer months. Those members of the club who remained in the vicinity of the Triple Cities had many very enjoyable get togethers. During this school year the club has had a varied FIRST Row: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johnston, Mr. laender, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Durham. and SECOND ROW: Mr. and Mrs. john Keigher, Mr. and Mrs. jack Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Auer, Mr, and Mrs. Andrew Caraker. The club has sponsored its own basketball and baseball teams who proved their merit extremely well in the intramural league. At both Christmas and Easter time, the club pre- pared individual gifts for the children of the Susque- hanna Valley Home. Mrs. joseph VanRiper, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. M R. HENRY KETCHAM, MR. BATTAGLIN1 The Saiens Club was formed in the late Spring of 1948 by a group of science and mathematics students who felt that students majoring in these fields were not adequately represented in the existing social or- ganizations of that time. The word Saiens is a Greek word meaning science and the membership is primarily made up of science and mathematics stu- dents, but the club itself is chiefly concerned with the social activities of its members rather than their scientific studies. This club has sponsored no all school affairs, but has had several outings, parties, and dinners for its members and guests. The Saiens club has been repre- sented in all intramural athletics. After only a little more than a year of existence it has grown from the original membership of sixteen to a capacity size of fifty.
