Founded early in December, it has since grown and developed until it is now on a par with the other social clubs. The Dionysians have enjoyed several parties and outings during recent months. Among the most memorable is the early March outing at the summer home of Tait Robertson at Quaker Lake. On another occasion the Dionysians sponsored a roller-skating party. The Dionysians entered a team in the intramural basketball league, and also have taken their place with the other social clubs by assisting with the Red Cross drive and other worthy causes. 0 O 'S swf X 4? 4 1lll H103 9 . 4- J D45 IIIIHW WNW 40 'ld ' i2,..5 !l77lLli-E 1 at Ze? - J H ga 1 ef Q E 4 ' E 19 'i 5 ' 5 P R f 2 A-zz 5 W Qt? In November, 1946, a group of twenty-two stu- dents formed the Baccacian Society to promote good fellowship and lasting friends. During their first year the Baccacians originated a Gloom Ball which was held just before the week of exams. This year a third annual l'Gloom Ball was held at the Endicott Legion, thus making it the oldest social club sponsored affair on the college calendar. Another Baccacia First is the Baccacia Scholar- ship. Baccacia was the first student organization to grant a cash scholarship. A third Baccacian-sponsored event is the annual Shipwreck Dance at which everyone who attends is invited to come in old clothes and act sailor-like. In addition to their social and scholarship activi- ties the Baccacians have an Academic Aid Com- mittee designed to help members with scholastic problems. The club is also prominent in college intramural leagues, having been champion of the 1948 softball league and runner up in the 19-I8-1949 basketball league. l'i1RST Row: Harold Noteware, Ernest Cinotti, Richard Streb, George R. RODNEY KETCHAM r 'W JVF The Goliards, TCC's largest men's social club, began its second year in October, 1948. A group of new members, two dozen in number, were initiated early in the fall. Named for a group of wandering scholars who traveled across Europe, making merry and doing good, the Goliards of Triple Cities College set out in 1948 to live up to their aims of performing ser- vice to the needy as well as taking part in fraternal activity of a social nature. Early in October, the organization sponsored a CARE drive for clothing and household needs for needy peoples of several foreign countries. CARE packages were sent to England, France, Italy, the Union of South Africa, and elsewhere. Packages of clothing also were sent overseas after a collection drive held at the college under Goliard Sponsorship. The Goliards broke blood-bank records for the second time when more than fifty pints were donated to the second Goliard Blood Drive. Crowning event of the year for the Goliards was the Mardi Gras staged March 18. Among other achievements the Goliards won their second con- secutive intramural basketball championship,
