VICE-CHANCELLOR FINLA G. CRAWITORD, a graduate of Alfred University, has been a member of the Syracuse University Faculty since 1919. Since 1924 he has been a professor in the School of Citi- zenship and Public Affairs, and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts since 1938. Dr. Crawford is also Head of the Political Science Department of the Max- well School of Citizenship. Dr. Crawford has taught summers at the Univer- sity of Stanford and Alfred University, and is a member of the American Political Science Associa- tion, National Municipal League, and the American Association of University Professors, Witlely known as a teacher, educational adminis- trator, and civic leader, Dr. Crawford has also written many books on political science and economics. Immediate liason olhcer between Triple Cities College and Syracuse University, Dr. Crawford serves in the capacity of advisor to Dean Bartle. CHANCELLOR WILLIAM PEARSON TOLLEY will long be remembered by students of Triple Cities College. It was through his eHorts that Triple Cities College was first founded, and then expanded to a permanent, four year college. Dr. Tolley is the seventh chancellor of Syracuse University. A native of Binghamton, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1922 and Master of Arts in 1924 from Syracuse University. He then pro- ceeded to Columbia University, where he received his Doctorate of Philosophy in 1950. In 1931 Dr. Tolley was appointed to the presi- dency of Allegheny College and was well on the way to becoming a national leader in higher education. He rapidly gained fame as the youngest college presi- dent in the United States. A Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Tolley has served in an executive position in many civic and educational or- ganizations both at Syracuse and, often in an advisory capacity, at Triple Cities College.
