K if K iksigw S all' Board of Education I congratulate each of you upon the completion of your high school work. I wish you success in the future. What is success? Is it money, fame, social position, or power? None of these guarantee success. Only when achievements are based on a foun- dation of strong character do you know the happiness of true success. Do you know within yourself that you are your own master? If you do, you are a success in your own eyes as well as in the 'eyes of the world. When are you sure of success?-not until the end of your life. You must never be satisfiedg always aim for some- thing better. I wish for all, success. Martin A. Helfer MR. MARTIN A. Vlasak-Girls' Sergeant-at-Arms January Senior Class The mind is a storehouse of memories. It holds recollections of our lifetime, the thoughts of our 'happiness Perhaps the most vivid of these memories are those of that time when we relinquished our carefree childhood and adopted the responsibilities of maturity-our high school days. The members of the January 1967 Class have much to recall. Surviving the anxiety and confusion of our sophomore year and reckless comradery of our junior year, we finally arrived -we were Seniors, the leaders of Central. We can remember our com- plaints of overwork, last minute term papers, the agonies of unfinished homework, and worries over college applications. The GO. Carnival, Central's Golden Iubille, Camelot, sports, clubs, the library, lunchtime, Christmas carols in the halls Cand in physicsj, senior assemblies, and the Senior Prom leave an indelible trace on our memories. Most of all, though, even more than the activities and the places, we remember the people- our friends and companions through all the trials of our school days. These we will view with special fondness. So, as graduates, we leave B.C.H.S. Although time is the moth that nibbles away at our recollections, it can not devour the memories of the Class of january 1967. Coleman-Secretary June Senior Class Years from now Central's halls will still echo the sounds of its past and forgotten students. Some of these echoes will be happy, others sad. Some will be the sounds of the June 1967 graduating class. Pride, spirit and individualism will be part of our echo. We munched ice cream sandwiches and laughed in the Senior Honor Studyhall. We danced in gym class to records borrowed from someone's grandmother. Pep rallies were contests between the cheerleaders and a certain section of boys. Even the team shouted their cheer-PRIDE. The library at noon was always silent, as the students were deep in study. The best sound of all was the new three o'clock dismissal bell. Certain voices still echo through the halls. Candy fWarmongerJ Nyswonger's bubbling chatter, Pat Kane's deep, warm laugh, Camelot's Melba Reed, Mary Patrick, Bill Lord, Doug Christian, and Phil Sweeney, the entreaties of cheerleaders Kassy Kaschal, Tina Meagher, Judy Coleman, Gail Titus, and Debbie Nordstrom, Sally C Petula j Clark's one night stands in chemistry class-all these will be remembered. We will associate faces with these sounds. Nick Serafini, Chuck Reutlinger, Gary Walford, Scott Bowen-our basketball players, Dann Lewis and Dan Keane-our G.O. leaders, Roy Sleeper, Bob Kane, and John Cheng-our football heroes, the DATA compilers, lettergirls, colorguards, Bono Shuman-our fashion model, Don Sherman and Pete Nowicki-class cynics who made sure no one got a swelled head, Mary Ryan, Donna Sergi, Barb Heichemer-our sportsday champs, Karen Sedor and the Jolly Green Giant-all these will be remembered. The years have passed quickly. Soon Central will be behind us-a part of the past. Yet we will always have the work, the fun, the faces, the sounds of Central in our memory. iw' SALLY CLARK . . . pert . . . persistent . . . active outspoken serious.
