vial: QW The Binghamton School System is indeed fortunate in having Mr. Helfer as its Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Helfer has proven himself extremely capable in carrying out the numerous duties which his post entails. One of Mr. Helfer's major responsibilities is that of making certain that the Binghamton schools meet the standards required by New York State. They must 'prepare students properly for entrance into college and the business or industrial World. Mr. Helfer fully understands the problems of students, teachers, and par- ents. He has done much to better our schools and to develop them into the vital, respected institutions of which our community is so proud. 6

Z The pupils of Binghamton Central High School are very fortunate in having Mr. Springmann at the head of their school. Mr. Edward T. Springinann, a graduate of Albany State Teachers College, Sees to it in every way possible that we get a well rounded education. He is help- ful and understanding to every student. He is not only ready to help pupils with their education but is present at every basketball and football game, cheering Central on to victory. He also trans- ports the Cheerleaders to some of the games. The students of Central High are very grateful to Mr. Springmann for doing such a tine job. 7
