DRUM CORPS When the eyes of football enthusiasts were not on the game, it was the drum corp that received the admiring gaze of the spectators. Led by Agnes McIntyre, the girls, twirling batons, beating drums, and playing fifes, made the saddest game less sad, the successful game more successful. Monica Semanek paraded as Drum Sergeant, while Leona Dobesh was head of the fife section, wearing white satin dresses trimmed with gold. Mr. Leo Lunch directed this spirited gang. The orchestra, also under the leadership of Mr. Lynch, played at the dramatics club presentations of Harriet and The Fighting Littles. ORCI lla QTRA 1 As.

BAD Mr. Leo L clfs blue and white garbed bunch have ushed more footballs over the oal YU P 9 line, warmed more feet, and raised more spirits at football games than could the combined efforts of the backs, electric heaters, and a generous numerical edge over the opponent. At pep rallies and parades the Binghamton Central Band has heightened enthusiasm and school spirit in the same manner. The fancy stepping and twirling of Majorette, Norene Deemer, enhanced the performance of the organization when they formed the anchor at the U. E. game. The annual band concert in May featured a medley from Ok1ahoma which was received enthusiastically. Working with the drum corps during the football season, the band did itself, the school, and the team proud. - 1

Webzfw ag.. DRAMATIC S CLUB The spotlight of attention is rightly focused on Dramatics Club. With faces animated with stage make-up, frowning over script lines, flushed with hard work and ultimate success, club members have wrought two plays before the Centralite audience, Harriet and The Fighting Littles. With a regime in the fall consisting of Philip Sweeney as President and Agnes Mclntyre as Secretary, the club presented Harriet with Vivian Mellor in the title role. Under the able direction of Mr. Carl Titus, Harriet was worthy production of the club. In contrast to the seriousness of Harriet , the club presented a hilarious comedy in the Spring term entitled The Fighting Littles. After the resignation of Mr. Titus, Mrs. Margaret Hasen- pflug took charge, refereed the Fighting Littles, and directed a success. Officers during the Spring term were Douglas Shirley as President, Iohn Gorton as Vice President, and Pat Hogarbohne as Secretary. All credit for these two fine presentations does not go to merely the club, cast, and direction. The men behind the men in front of the curtain are deserving of praise. The Stage Crew, with Charles Doerner as chief, created the sets and suffered a thousand headaches before the plays could be presented. Thus to the combined efforts of the Dramatics Club and the Stage Crew we give a verbal applause for a curtain call. ' STAGE CREVV
