Q. D O M O IX-LATIN OF NlNETY:S SS CLA CLASS OF NINETY-SIX. .-Q-.m.a...u:.m -:...v .,- ,.-i..'-- ..-.R Morro-Finished, yet beginning. CoLoRs--Qld rose and sage green. YELL-Wahoo! Wahoo! Rip! Zip! Bix! Hul-a-ba-lu ! Hul-a-ba-lix ! B. C. H. S.! Ninety-six! LL classes have a beginning, and itis sufficient to say that the . origin of Ninety-six is not lost in the darkness of antiquity, T nor is it the growth of yesterday. It is -the steady develop- ment which has at last borne fruit in producing a class which holds the record for its modesty. There is in this class a spirit of kindness, which went forth and organized' the Class of Ninety-seven, and brought them into existence. Yet, they, in their ingratitude, refused the prof- fered kindness, and sent to us a bill for the expenses of their first meeting. I , 'V . , In the making of class history Ninety-six has been most successful, she has proved herself a most generous class. When one cake was stolen, we presented the thief with another. When, after a cordial in- vitation to the home of one of our young junior friends, admittance was forcibly denied us, we repaid the children by entertaining them in royal style, although they wereunbidden guests. The great event of the year was our pilgrimage to the Springs, from which the healing waters flow. This was the time that our mathematical prodigy tried his new theory of putting two qchaperonsy into oneg but, alas! it proved a failure. This was the time when some went to sleep beneath the robes, and our granger boy went to sleep on his desk. Un this same night the Class of Ninety-seven made their lonesome, voyage to The Point, with only one girl in the party, and this one the chaperon. I ' Parties we have had almost too numerous to mention, and the jolly good times enjoyed will never be forgotten. Our first you would have thought the meeting of all the-gods of mythology, and the fair goddesses were so bashful that they blushingly hid their faces. Who will ever forget the noblespirit that inspired the girls to search for the long white robe, and then to decide that he never had one? Who will ever forget how we skated away from Ninety-seven and sped up the Che- nango? Of the fun we had on our excursion down to the farm, of the snakes we saw, of the good things we put away, of the shadows we chased, mistaking them for juniors, -you will never hear, but they are written' among the pleasant memories of our school days. I might relate many other notable things done by this class, but perhaps you are already weary. Remember that, though the course of Ninety-six is FINISHED in the High School, YET it is but BEGINNING in the broad work of life. C I
