A Day In The Of A Student The morning begins with breakfast served in bed What's for breakfast today? Cold pizza and Hot Chocolate, my favorite! After breakfast, it's time to get ready. I take a critical look through my wardrobe. There's something I haven't worn this year! Good, I hate to repeat myself. Finding my electric toothbrush broken, I have to go to the trouble of brushing my teeth with a manual toothbrush. What a strain it is! After I'm finished getting ready, I call down to the garage to have the chauffeur get the Mercedes started. When I get down there, I find that there is something wrong with my car. It is now 8:25 so I select my black Porsche 944 convertible. I drive myself to Life school and reach the campus at 8:23.1 must be slowing down in my old age. The rest of the day is just a blur of teachers, students, tests, and homework assignments. Of course lunch was a major event of my day. Eating with my friends is always a killer. We goofed off and talked so much that no one really noticed what they were eating. This helps preserve everyone's health and sanity. Breaks also stand out in my day. In fact, other than lunch-bunch fun, the breaks are the only things to remember. At 3:30, when the bell finally rings, it is a mad rush to senior parking to finish off the day. A trip home and the T.V. are my agenda until it is time to go to sleep. 10 «Student Life

Music is as much a part of teenage life as going out and being with friends. Tunes can be heard blaring from car stereos on back campus both before and after school. It is a constant battle to see who can own the loudest car stereo system. The kinds of music that students listen to are as diverse as their personalities. Some enjoy the hard rock music of names such as Van Halen, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, and Ozzy Osbourne. Others prefer New Wave bands such as The Smiths, New Order, UB 40, U2, the Pet Shop Boys, the Violent Femmes, Depeche Mode, The Cure, and OMD. Still other teens enjoy a relatively new form of music called Christian Rock. Stand-outs in this field are Amy Grant, Carmen, and Striper. Groups like Run-DMC have also made their mark at Biloxi High. Being a part of the South, Biloxi teens also have country fans among them. Names of artists include Alabama. Willie Nelson. Hank Williams Jr., and the Judds. Music from the sixties experienced a revival this year. The Beatles made a hit with their re-release of Twist and Shout. The single caused interest among an age group formerly not very familiar with the Beatles. Another group making a comeback was the Monkees. Some of the original members met again to record a new single, That Was Then, This Is Now, and to make a reunion tour. Students flock to record stores to buy the latest hits that they may hear on the radio or see on the still-popular MTV. Teens in Biloxi also have many chances to see their favorite groups in concert at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, which attracts many top recording stars. If the coliseum does not offer enough, there are many choices a short drive away. Groups appear in New Orleans at UNO Lakefront and at the Superdome. Groups also perform in Mobile and Pensacola. Music is a major part of the academic life at Biloxi High School. These programs allow the students to understand what goes into the music that they listen to every day. Teens listen to a very diverse range of music Just some of these are represented here. Randy Jones mixes music with studying Although Walkmans are outlawed on campus, many try to sneak by so that they can listen to tunes
