Bitoxi BOARD or EDUCATION QGZMZLMM ,Manga It is again my pleasure on behalf ot the members ot' the Biloxi Board of Education to express my best wishes to the faculty and student body of the Biloxi Senior and junior High schools. Much progress has been made during this past year in both buildings and the members of the board realize that this foreward movement could not have been accom- plished without the splendid cooperation of the teachers and the boys and girls. It is always an honor to have the opportunity to express these thoughts by way of the Indian Echo and my sincere appreciation is extended to the editors and members of the staff for publishing a most creditable yearbook which is an example of the many school projects that is indicative of the enthusiasm and training of the students in the Biloxi City Schools. -Lewis W. Mr. Hood held the honor of being , one of Biloxi's first four-letter athletes. He is a ' graduate of the University ot' Miss. where he coached baseball 2 years and attended Ogle- i thorpe University. Ga. and Tulane University. New Orleans. La. A member ot' Delta Sigma Chi fraternity he is associated with the Miss, Phar- '5'-. s -1' maceutical Associations. the Biloxi Lions Club '- and the Biloxi Fishing N Hunting Assn.

The Superintendent and Prineipnls, who so eapably and patiently guide us through another memorable year. The Faculty, with whom we come in closer contact, who lead us, instruct us and inspire us to improve ourselves. our fellowmen and the world we live in. Co- owner of the Salcedo Oil Distribut- ing Company of Miss. and owner of a fishing boat on the Gulf, Mr. Toche is a life long resident of Biloxi. SWETMAN, secre- tary, is a former Navy man having attended the U.S. Naval Aeademy at Annapolis. HOLLlS. past pres. of the board, has been team physitian for the past IH years. He is past commander of the American Le- gion and past president of Lions International, Dr. Hollis is also setretary of the Biloxi Hospital staff and secretary of the Coast Counties Medical Society. He graduated from the University of Alabama. uf ark liROTSCHER STECKLER is Supt of Roads and Grounds at the Vet- erans Administration Center. He was edutated in New Orleans Publit Sthools and -lesuit College. lle attended Loyola University and took estension courses from Louisi- ana State University in .ggrirulture and allied fields. Active in civic affairs, he is a member of the Knights of Columbus. and Ki- wanis.
