By attending five out of town varsity meets and a number of junior varsity meets, the forensics team prepared for the two most important meets of the year — State and the National Forensics League Meet. Events range from prepared speeches — oral interpretation, memo- rized public address, exposi- tory and oratory- to speeches which must be prepared dur- ing competition- debate, Li- coln- Douglas debate, extem- poraneous speaking and im- promtu. Students develop speaking skills, self-confi- dence, and the ability to in- form and persuade an audi- ence. 27
