New Kids in Town Show Spirit On Tuesday, September 7, Senior students had to give up their summer ways and gear themselves towards the demands ot school. Some 2,100 were on hand tor the first day all-school assembly held that afternoon. Also in the afternoon the students attended their first semester classes. In the morning, all sophomores and students new to Senior High were welcomed to the school by Mr. A. R. Collins Jr, principal; Mr. Robert Zupan, assistant principal; and their respective deans, Mr. John Kosich and Mrs. Adella Hummell. A skit was done by the Senior Counselors to show the many activities offered at B.S.H. During the day the sophomores and new students were found in the hall corners wondering which way their next class was. One teacher found a young lass crying her eyes out because she could not find the correct classroom. Do you remember your first day? Top Left—Rich Stripp extolls the benefits of BKC to the Class of 79. Top Center—Lloyd Marsh, Susan Schwidde, and Laurie Hanley take time out of the program to do commercial. Top Right—Sophomores await the trials and tribulations at their first year at Senior High. Far Left— Who wears short shorts! We wear short shorts! Middle Left—Mari Wold poses a Dirty for a skit. Left—Principal A. R. Collins, Jr., gives a pep speech to the new kids in town. Bottom Far Left—Guy VanPoucke, foreign exchange student from Belgium, says hello to the sophomores. Bottom Center—Girls' and Boys' Staters perform for the Sophs. From Left: Guy Rogers, John Schultis, Sande Snell, Dick Punches, Wayne Gordon, Kerrie Lindsey, and Hank Hartman. Bottom Left—Cheerleaders Mari Wold, Susan Schwidde. and Laurie Hanley watch as a skit is performed. Bottom Right—Looks like the first day brings out the kids in all of us! Tim O'Leary, Wes Armstead, and Barry Zirko do their thing for the sophomores.
