The little people in Child Ser- vices can have a lot of fun with the things that they can do. They color, hear stories, fingerpaint, and play all kinds of games. The typing and shorthand students are constantly working. They take a lot of dictation and type millions of jobs. The only time they do not work is at break time which is only 10 minutes. The accounting students do so much work with numbers that they talk in numbers and have dreams of numbers ruling the world. The students in marketing run a store and donut shop before and after class and during breaktime. Drafting students draw houses on small scales and buildings. The construction students are busy build- ing sheds. The communications stu- dents are thinking about getting a radio station. They practice with walkie-talkies and the like. The students in Industrial Me- chanics work on their cars and on small engines. There are three blocks or classes at the Career Center. One block runs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. For this block the students must catch the bus at Senior at 7:30 a.m. Most students do not like first block be- cause of the early hours. But it only takes two periods of regular school hours while the other two blocks take three school hours. Whether they like the three hours or not, the second block students have no choice. Third block students prefer it to other blocks. The Career Center has students from West High and Central in addition to Senior. Top Left- April Taylor works carefully on her artwork. Center Left- Dave Hall is seeing if the test panel works. Above- Mike Kerner looks to see if he has the same amount on the adding machine as he does on the paper. Left- Carol Dobrenz is finally cleaning the duplicating machine. . 17
