BSH Honored With Bellamy Award Billings Senior High was selected as the thirty-fifth school to receive the National Bellamy Flag Award. Senior High will become the standard bearer for all quality secondary schools in Montana and is designated to hold the honor for a fifty-year period. The Montana Bellamy Award presentation will take place in Billings in the Lincoln Junior High School auditorium Friday morning, October 15, 1976. The presentation will follow a set pattern planned and conducted by the executive director. Dr. Margarette Miller of the national program. Attending the ceremony on October 10, 1975, for the presentation of the Award to Huntsville Senior High School in Hunts- ville, Alabama, the thirty-fourth annual Bellamy Flag Award winner, was Mr. Charles Nesbit, chairman of the Bellamy committee; Wayne Gordon, member of the class of 1977; and Mr. Dewey Hanson, BSH teacher. BSH was chosen to receive the Bellamy Award for the following reasons: the pro- ficient performance of duty by the ad- ministration, teachers who promote a high level of critical thinking in their students, constant achievement by students In bring- ing honor to their school, the domestic exchange program and strong interchange American Field Service Program, an ac- complished and distinguished alumni, the Charles E. Borberg Humanities series, the concern and care for the physically handi- capped, a strong emphasis on physical education, a cooperative community shown by civic organization activities promoting leadership qualities in youth, and finally, for being a school that takes pride in being.
