The foreign languages available at Senior High are French, Spanish, German, Latin, and Russian. First-year students of a foreign language learn the basic verb con- jugations and sentence structure. Later, they concentrate on vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. During the second and third year, students study the more complex verbs and grammar, and review previous learning. For some languages, an ad- ditional year is offered for advanced study, in order to gain a better under- standing of the language.
