Douglas and presented on October 17 and 19. The plot evolves around three phases: before the Cruci- fixion, after the Crucifixion, and Marcellus'acceptance of Chris- tianity. Before the Crucifixion, Marcellus was a wealthy young Tribune. After he insulted Prince Gaius, he was sent to the un- desirable fort of Minoa. There he was ordered to conduct the crucifixion of a Jew, Jesus. Afterwards, Marcellus was strangely affected by the Galilean's Robe which he wore to the Cross. This was the beginning of phase two. During this phase, Marcellus nearly went insane under the tormentof his conscience. With the hope of restoring his sanity, Demetrius, Marcellus' Corinthian slave, was ordered to take his master on a tour of Greece and the neighboring countries. It was during this tour that Marcellus began to comprehend the importance of Jesus' beliefs. Thus be- gan the third phase, Marcellus' acceptance of Christianity. One cause for this was the Robe itself—the symbol of an intangible con- cept so powerful that men give their lives for its preservation. Frank Sparhawk, Mike Walters, and Mark Foos pause to remember their lines. Mark Foos, Gary Armstrong, and Craig Ball secure the props that were so im- portant to the play.
