Jean McIntyre Nancy Marsh . .MarciaWise Bill Watson Becky Clark Steve Chappie Juanita Fisher Susan Sekulich Mike Walters Student Director Sandra Melnick For the first time, the drama department presented a spring play. A Roomful of Roses , a comedy by Edith Sommer, was presented under the direction of Miss Clara Strutz with the aid of Mr. Lloyd Mickelson and Mr. Archie Elliot. The play revolved around Bridget MacGowan and her mother, Nancy Fallon. Years before, Mrs. Fallon had left Carl MacGowan to marry a war correspondent. Jay Fallon. Consequently, her child Bridget was taken from her. Then, eight years later, she came to visit her mother. The play had many refreshingly comic characters, such as the Negro maid, Willamay; the little boy, Larry Fallon; and family next door, Grace, Jane, and Dick Hewitt. However, the effects the broken home had on Bridget and her mother in- jected a very profound note into it. The range of feeling and thought appealed to all ages, while all the work done on cos- tumes, make-up, staging, lighting, and props added polish. These combined made it a fine play. Susan Sekulich models her new formal under her parents' admiring gaze. Steve Chappie disconsolately announces his bad news as Marcia Wise and Bill Watson look on with surprise. 14
