Students gather around to watch as YKC won the water fight in Pioneer Pork. Student Activities Are Varied Adeie Nielsen upholds the theory that a wad of bubble gum always helps concen- tration. Still more students sit on the wall oround the tennis courts to watch the fight. An after-game dance is always a good place to observe the latest dance fads. Casually-dressed girls attend one of the many sport events after school. 9

Cheerleaders teoch Sophomores new cheers as Greg King looks on. Kris Keup tells the students about her experiences in Germany Assemblies Add Spirit To School B.H.S. provided a varied entertainment for the student body through assemblies. Thanks to National School Assemblies stu- dents were able to enjoy anything from comedians to concert pianists. Various clubs of the school presented pep assemblies to boost the spirit of the team by leaving the school ringing with cheers. During the year the band presentedanassembly which included classic as well as popular music. As with all entertain- ment, the students received the assemblies with a warm wel- come. Swirling skirts and stomping feet often denoted school pep dances. Popular dance bands, usually composed of guitarists and a drummer, provided the music. Many dances included en- tertainment from the student body and even occasional door prizes. Sponsored by Senior High Clubs as a money-making project, these dances quickly became the popular way to end Friday nights. Sponsors of a few were the Majorettes, Pep Club, and Forensics. Also, Senior High co-operated with West in spon- soring two exchange dances during the football season. Chuck Jones takes port In askitduringo pep assembly. New Team??? 8
