Edward Lacklen is clerk and business manager of the board of trustees. These men serve our school dis- trict efficiently and well without pay. They are all busy men and their time is valuable to them, yet they are willing to do this public service because they know how useful the work is and how much it really is needed. We of BHS should duly recog- nize the democratic spirit this shows and show our appreciation to these men for the fine job they are doing. FIRST ROW tLeft to RightJ-Ster- ling M. Wood, Fred A. Growing up is somewhat the same with a school district as with an individual. lt increases the responsibilities and the expense. School district number 2 in Yellowstone Coun- ty is the fastest growing and perhaps the largest populated district in Montana. While we point with pride to the size and progress of our schools we must realize that we will need increased building space and additional faculty. It is true that the facilities which were adequate a few years ago are not so today. lt is also true that school population con- tinues to increase each year. We are a progressive district so we shall meet the needs and plans for the future. We are also a prosperous district and can meet the need of our schools without too much strain financially. Vision and prosperity go hand in hand. Good schools in- vite more people to our community who in turn contribute to our school system. We cannot overlook our responsibil- ity to future citizenship and community good. We are proud of our schools and we are grateful to the people who made them possible. Students should become aware of their responsibilities and obligations to the community. ln the final analysis, these are major objectives in this business of education. Trustees of School District No. 2
