' A .Pax-'2El..4h-.-Fi!-SAA' '1 ..x. , 5.1, ,- V ?- 0609 We, the graduating class of '57, know that in B. H. S. our memory will always last. Eight girls and four boys amount to laughter, But when we're serious we get what we're after. Now we are graduating and do solemnly express that B. H. S. has been the best. Jerry Wampler is a tall boy with many charms, but he never seems to want a girl in his arms. Now Sharon Utke is pretty and unattached, but soon by some boy she'll be snatched. Betty McGehee has eyes for only one' boy, his name is Gary, and she loves him with joy. Sue Salchow says that when she dreams, all she can see is Lee Roy and the U. S. Marines. Charles Toynton's nickname is Tubby I. lf you want to know what that means, just ask Thelma why Thelma Ruth Herring is always in trouble, But when her dad calls she 's there on the double. Gary Hale never seems to be at home, but just call 98 and he'll come to the phone. For Rosemary fHarterJ Mooneyham, Qgiggles to usj, Being around Bud Mooneyham is a must. Ruth Schmidt always seems to be, with her nose in a book and making an E. Wayne Harter is a quiet sort of guy, but his eyes pop out when a certain girl goes by. Harleen Hubbard is full of mischief and fun, and Wayne thinks she's the best under the sun. The newest member of Billings High is Juanita Pratt, and she's very shy. MOTTO: Ever Upward FLOWER: Pink Rose COIDR: Pink and Grey 74-4 ' ' ' -iii-gr, 7 +i..,.l,,.. .v The class of 1957, with the great foresight of the sages, had made plans for 3 C1358 1'CUI1i0I1ten years later. Therefore, according to plahs on a beautiful spring day in May, 1967, the members of the class began arriving at Camp Lenapi, east of Billings. Jerry Wampler, Scout Master and caretaker of the camp since Dr. Marshall's retirement, had made preparations for the occasion. Jerry, we are told, has devoted much of his time to teaching elephants how to play basketball. Ruth Ann Schmidt was one of the first to arrive. She told us that she is now President of the Lonely Hearts Association, however, she has not found a partner for her lonely heart yet. Not far behind Ruth Ann was Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Harter. Mrs. Harter was the former Harleen Hubbard. They told us they are raising skunks for fur coats on a farm east of Billings, formerly the Arthur Harter home- stead. We learned that they have seven pairs of feet around the farm. Sue and her husband arrived in a major's sedan. Lee Roy is a special Marine detective on a special mission to expose the corruption in the Billings city government. Sue is helping by working in the city hall as an assistant to Mayor Mearl Pearce. We heard a clatter about this time and turned to see Charles Toynton, the game warden of Christian County, moving toward us in a beat up jeep. The reason for the bad condition of the jeep, Charles explained, was that he had been chasing a man who had shot too many muskrats and Charles was so intent on chasing the crook that he got wedged between two trees. He caught the crook, never the less, and brought the muskrats along to roast for dinner. We saw a pink cadillac convertible coming and saw at the wheel Sharon Utke, who, we learned, is an instructor of English at S. M. S. The next guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hale . Mrs. Hale was the former Betty McGehee. Gary is super- intendent of the First Baptist Church at Cedar Falls, and they run the Tidy-Didy diaper service. With their five small children they are their own best customers Juanita Pratt, arrived soon with her husband, John Harter. Juanita is helping John run the City Service Station in Billings. The last, but not unnoticed, per- son to arrive was Thelma Ruth Herring. As usual she came storming in, mad as a hornet, .because her boss, the Maytag dealer, Mr. Stark, had kept her after working hours- without overtime pay. Thelma is the bookkeeper there. She hasn't found her man yet, but she is not looking very hard. When the sun started to set, we all started home after a full and joyous day, feeling closer ties to our class of 1957. Five years from now we are to have another reunion and who knows what progress will have been made by that time.
