Ski Club The Ski Club is composed of high school students who enjoy skiing purely for its recreational and aesthetic values. The club sponsors several day trips each year to ski areas in New Hampshire and Vermont as well as a week long trip during February school vacation. The February vacation trip has been in effect for the past six'years and during that time over 200 people have enjoyed skiing in such remote areas as France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and Colorado. This year the ski club is sponsoring a trip to Steamboat, Colorado during the February vacation and over 30 high school students will be going on this trip. R.O.T.C. There are many activities within our Marine Corps lr. ROTC program. The ROTC sponsors about five to six dances a year, with a leading Disc lockey as em- cee. Included in these dances are mem- bers of the Burlington and Woburn lr. ROTC programs. Other activities in which we partici- pate in are the Drill Team, the High School Rifle' Team, and a variety of in- tramural sports. This year we have organ- ized a Physical Fitness Team, to represent Billerica High in a nationwide athletic competition. Throughout the year we have many field trips, which include visitations to local military bases, marksmanship firing with the .22 cal. rifle, and everyone takes the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. Our longest and most popular trip is the one week orientation visit to Quantico, Virginia. Ouantico is where the Marine officers are trained. The cadets participate in many of the same activities as the regular Marines.

The Circle Game Yesterday a child came out to wonder Caught a dragon-fly inside a jar. g . Fearful when the sky was full of thunder, And tearful at the falling of a star. And the seasons, they go round and round W And the painted ponies go up and down. We're captive on the Carousel of time. We can't return, we can only look behind From where we came and go Round and round in the circle game. Then the Child moved ten times round the seasons, Skated over ten clear frozen streams, Words like, when you're older, must ap- pease him, And promises of someday make his dreams. And the seasons, they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down. We're captive on the carousel of time. We Can't return, we can only look behind From where we came and go Round and round in the circle game. Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now. Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town. And they tell him, take your time, It won't be long now, till you Drag your feet to slow the circles down. And the seasons, they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down. We're captive on the carousel of time. We can't return, we can only look behind From where we Came and go Round and round in the circle game. So the years spin by and now the boy's twenty, Though his dreams have lost some grand- eur coming true, There'Il be new dreams, maybe better dreams, And plenty before the last revolving year is through, And the seasons, they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down. We're captive on the carousel of time. We can't return, we can only look behind From where we came and go T Round and Round in the circle game.
