SENIOR MESSAGE Congratulations on a job well done. Your teachers have tried to foster in you the growth of aptitude, desire, and oppor- tunity. Mr. Riel OUR MESSAGE TO YOU VVe, the graduating class of 1963, would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the invaluable examples of leadership, integrity, and self-determination you have set for us to follow. As teachers we have endeavored to make available to you those experiences which would stimulate you to devel- op your potential to its fullest, and to meet your intellectual, esthetic, vocational, and social needs as an individual, as an American citizen, and a member of the world community. The degree to which you put into practice these high ideals is the degree to which you will be of true value to yourself, to your family, to your community, and to the betterment of mankind. E. E. Splaine Behind every production stands an unseen sponsor - an ever present help which few see and fewer fully appreciate. Yet without this aid no project can be carried out, no great deed done. To the Class of 1963 you were this invisible hand. You have spent long hours on the details we had forgotten and have given in- valuable advice without which we would have floundered helplessly. To you, our advisors, we say a simple but sincere thank you for your unselfish contribution to each individual, to our class, and to the school of which we are so proud. As you leave the portals of your Alma Mater, your train- ing ground for leadership, and enter into that field of activ- ity you have chosen to become leaders, you have the sin- cere wishes and eamest hopes of your teachers, that the principles of leadership, fine.character and good conduct which you have pursued while at school will serve as a con- stant source of strength in the life ahead for each one of you. Frank j. Luciano Senior Class Advisor, 1963 3

YEARBOOK MESSAGE High school offers every student many responsibilities and privileges. VVhen each pupil receives his diploma, his education will figuratively begin. In each case, however, every boy and girl will have left something of himself or herself to enhance the success of Billerica Memorial High School. The members of the Class of 1963 upon encounter- ing life, through their experiences and great values derived from their attendance at Billerica Memorial High School, by necessity, will and must assume an ever intensifying re- sponsibility to their school and society for the progress of this great country in which they live. It is only through a highly informative population to which each and every young adult must contribute unstintingly that the level of education can be raised to a degree so that progress can truly be established. The loyalties, behavior pattems and scholastic demands made upon all students of the Class of 1963 should encourage them to reach high for their goals, to never waiver in their ideals, and to ascertain swiftly the good from the evil in any situation. Those of us who remain at Billerica Memorial High School as teachers and administrators encourage all to re- tum when it is necessary for guidance and assistance so that no opportunity is lost to assure each and every mem- ber of the Class of 1963 our continued loyalty. Mr. Ingraham OUR MESSAGE TO YOU VVhen duty calls, the brave in heart and strong in character answer. In all that you have ever accomplished, justice and humility have tempered the steel of your decisions. Your unyielding sense of righteousness has ever impressed us and helped us to govem ourselves. For your part in molding our future we express our heartfelt appreciation. May we bring credit to you, to our school, and to the community of which we are so justly proud. Class of 1963 Mr. Zaralla Mr. Nuttal Mrs. Currie
