In Memoriam Mr. Leslie V. Stock We, the Class of ’60, realize that this book of memories would not be complete without a thought of one of the past local leaders of education, Professor Leslie V. Stock. He held many important positions in the field of education including President of the Southern District of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. In 1947, he formed a jointure in Biglerville which was one of the first in the state. It was used as a model for the jointures that followed. Beginning as a teacher, he later became the High School Principal and finally Principal of the Upper Adams School System. He served the school and community a total of 35 years. He was an active member of the church and Lions Club. For ten years, he was a very important part of our school life. He was loved and respected by both students and teachers who worked under him. The loss of a good friend and leader was not only felt in the school but also in the life of the entire community. Page 16
