EIGHTH GRADE HISTORY As the Pilgrims in l62O were awe-stricken when they launched on strange land in the New World, so were we seventh graders when we entered high school this year. We found the daily schedule of work quite different from that of the elementary grades. We thought that we would have time on our hands with only four classes, but we soon found that as we did our work well and participated in the school activities we were very busy. We had sixteen members in the band, two on the Safety Patrol, two in the Glee Club and several on the football and basketball squads. Many difficulties were overcome with the assistance of our capable sponsors - Miss Gilliam, Mrs. Whitt and Mr. Gibbs.
