CLASS CLASS OFFICERS President Vice-President Secretary-Treasurer Sponsors PHILMORE TUCKER RUSSELL COOPER PAT BURDETTE MISS COX, MISS BREWER Tucker, Burdette, Cooper The fall of 1952 found an eager Tenth Grade ready for a full year. With the help and encourage- ment of our sponsors. Miss Brewer and Miss Cox, we feel we have accomplished much and have had a very happy year together. We learned in the Ninth Grade that participating in the school activities was very important. With this in mind we began the fall term with the following boys on the football team: Filmore Tucker, Bill Holding, Don Giles, Frank Pannell, Forrest McCoig, Harvey Graham, Larry Wright, Bobby Hamblen , Rus- sell Cooper, Stan Yonce, Bobby Wheeler, and Martin Revilla. We also had ten to go out for basketball. With the organizing of the various clubs we were well represented by having fourteen in the Glee Club, eighteen in the Roman Club, six in the Camera Club, five in the Key Club, six in the Spanish Club, three in the F.H.A. Club, and five in the Varsity Club. We were also proud to have had thirteen in the Band. Two of our members, Douglas Dalton and David Barker, received an outstanding rating in All State at Bluefield. Mary John Mayhew became a member of the Three Plus One. Bill Holding and Mary John Mayhew were our representatives on the Safety Patrol. We put on a very successful play, You Name It, which displayed the many talents to be found in our class. As we close this chapter in our High School Career, we now look forward to a busy and profitable Junior year.
