AND ffiCULTY M. J. Roy Horne, The Principal of our school, has an A.B. degree from William and Mary and an M.A. de- gree from Columbia University — He teaches Physics. Miss Anne Beaton graduated from Mary Washington College with a B. A. degree. She teaches Civics 8, Eng- lish 8 and 9 and is an Eighth Grade Sponsor. The teacher of English 8, 10, and 12 is Miss Nell Bellamy who has a B.S. degree from East Tennessee State Col- lege and M. A. and Ph.D. degrees from Duke University. She is a sponsor of a Junior Class. Miss Wilma Brewer with a B.S. degree from Lincoln Memorial University is a Sophomore sponsor and teaches Algebra 10, Math 8 and Civics 8. Miss Sarah Broadwater teaches Plane Geometry, History 12 and Algebra 9. She is sponsor of a Junior Class and has an A.B. degree from Hollins College. With a B.S. degree from Radford College is Miss Faith Cox who teaches English 8 and 11, and His- tory 1 1 and is a Sophomore sponsor. The teacher of Latin I and II, Chemistry, and Solid Geometry is Miss Lora Dingus. She is sponsor of Senior Class, School Bell and Latin Club and has an A.B. degree from Emory and Henry College. Mr. Cleo Pete Dorton, an Eighth Grade sponsor, has a B.S. degree from East Tennessee College. He teaches Business Law, English 8, Civics 8, Driving and Typing. Sponsoring the Glee Club, Safety Patrol, Camera Club and an Eighth Grade is Mr. Jack H. Gibbs, who has d B.S. degree from Appalachian State Teachers College and teaches Biology, Math 8, and Driving. Mrs. Kathleen K. Horne, who has an A.B. degree from William and Mary College, teaches Home Economics. She is in charge of the school lunchroom and is sponsor of the F.H.A. The boys ' basketball coach and assistant football coach is Mr. J. C. Miller, with a B.S. degree from Milligan College and an M.A. from George Peabody College. He sponsors a Freshman class and teaches Science 8 and History 9. Miss Billie Jean Scott a graduate, of Lincoln Memorial University with an A.B. degree teaches English 11, Spanish I and II and is Librarian. She is sponsor of the Jolly Roger, the Spanish Club and a Freshman class. Our Typing and Shorthand teacher is Miss Beth Siphers with a B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Burchell L. Stallard, who has an A.B. degree from Milligan College, is football coach and girls basketball coach. He teaches Science 9, Driving and Physical Educa- tion and is sponsor of a Freshman class. J.
