We were enthusiastic at first, L 9 9 l Y 9 9 Nibutrdis the enthusiasm wore oft, we settled down to the rountine of daily work. Mrs. Giles and Coach 'Staines were the s onsors for the two sections. ,. P 'F When the football season rolled around, we were represented by Fred Statzer, Donald Davis, Mc- Kinley Graham and Tommy Peterson, Harriet Holton was elected a cheerleader. Then after football season was over, we looked forward to basketball season. Those who partici- pated in it were: Sarah Gilliam, Harriet Holton and Fay Dickenson. We all know that to have tun in high school one has to participate in school activities. Harriet Holton and Fred Statzer were in the Varsity Club, Barbara Mercer was in the Camera Club and a Representive on the School Bell Staff. Harriet Holton and Mary Louise Payne were on the Safety Patrol. There were five in the Band, tour in the Glee Club, thirteen in the Roman Club and eighteen in the F. H. A. Club. GIBBS When August the twenty-fifth came around last year, we were all happy to be in the high school building. It was quite confusing at first but soon we learned our way around. This year those who participated in the band were: Jean Reasor, Evelyn Dye, Peggy Dye, Betsy Witt, Gay Harrison, Tommy Branhan, Carl Giles, Jimmie Joyce King, Hershel Johnson, David Barker, and Betty Sue Grubb. The boys who went out for football were: Garnett Gilliam, Johnny Dorton, Garry Clark, and Everett Gallihar. Jimmie Joyce King took part in the work of the Safety Patrol.
