LORA onsieus 5 3, 3 -ss -L . 2 .s. ft Senior Class History As we Seniors stop to look back over our school days together, it seems but a short time since we were struggling with our A B C's and trying to learn to sit still. . As we entered high school, some of the members of our class had dropped out, but new ones came in to take their places. Those who have remained together all twelve years are: J. B. Beverly, Harold Baker, Marilyn Fair Barker, Reba Coomer, Nancy Holmes, Henry Laster, Ralph Mullins, Bob Morris, Joanne Masters, Barbara Lane, Joe Rush, Frank Reeder, Bill Wolfe, Christine Reach, Arvella Smith and Alma Trent. When we were in the eighth grade, our girls won the basketball class tournament. Our Sponsors that year were Mr. Gibbs and Mrs. Giles. During our Freshman and Sophomore years, Coach Fitchko was our Sponsor. We will always remem- ber him for helping us over all the humps. At this time we had several new members to ioin our class. As Juniors we really began to look forward to becoming Seniors and graduating. We sold magazines in order to help with the expense of our annual, and with much excitement chose our class rings. Then with the help of Miss Broadwater, our Sponsor, we worked hard on the Junior-Senior prom to make it a success, which it undoubtedly was. Then as last, we became dignified Seniors . This year will probably hold more memories than any other. We received our class rings, ordered our invitations, went to Washington, and with plenty of good hard work, and the help of our Sponsor, Miss Dingus and Mrs. Giles we presented our Senior play, which was a big success. Our class this year was most outstanding in sports. Ten boys lettered in football. Carl Jessee and A. L. Rutherford made All District first team. Joe Rush received a trophy for the best blocker on the team and Brownie Polly received an award for the most valuable man on the team. Brownie Polly, Bill Wolfe, John David Revilla, Carl Jessee and Gentry Scroggs represented our class in basketball. John David made All County third team and Carl Jessee received honorable mention. in our class we will always remember, Gentry, singing, Marilyn Fair, talking, Doris Wells, laughing, R. J. Neeley, studying, Henry Laster and his good looks, Barbara and Joe Ann as our class athletes, and last but not least, Brownie Polly and Marilyn Fair Barker, our King and Queen. As we close the pages of our high school days, we are now facing new experiences of life and as we try to make the most of these experiences, we will always keep with us and treasure the memories of our high school days together.
