The Freshman class was eager to begin work when school started last fall. There were so many of us that our class was divided into two sections. Miss Steele had charge of one group, Mrs. McCormick, the other. Even the pupils were amazed to find that these two teachers could keep Hfty-eight active pupils under control. Nothing thrills a pupil more than to have one of his class-mates make an out- standing play in football! Our class was proud to have four members who played football. They were: Billy Joe Kirk, Eugene Bentley, Bobby Buckles, and Stuart Mohaffey. Before the last football games were played,' we began to look forward to the coming basketball season. When basketball practice was begun, we found that our class was again represented by Eugene Bentley, Billy Joe Kirk, and Bobby Buckles. With one year of experience behind us, our class realized that to really enioy High School on must keep busy and share with fellow students the fun of different activities. Seven from our class ioined the Latin Club, five, the Camera Club, and seventeen, the Glee Club. Now we are looking forward to and making plans for the summer vacation - not only because we want a rest from school activities, but also because summer will be followed by another school term when we will be Sophomores. u

But by exam time we had adapted ourselves to the workings of high school. This year we were not eligible for football and basketball, but we have made full use of activity period by practicing for future participation in these sports. There were eight from our group in the band and one on the safety patrol. The school records show that we were one of the outstanding classes entering high school in the last few years. We hope to maintain such a record throughout our high school-days. 'xv ' 'fr' ,r i :fr X L N J - 'TU-7' an Jie ,QWK
