XVe were just talking with Bob Smith who was doing the family shopping, but had to hurry home to his wife. US? We're Chief Petty Officers Wfally Drexler and Larry McLaughlin of the United States Navy. We just pulled into New York Harbor from Gibralter where we saw Doris McGowan painting a land- scape of the beautiful Mediterranean. It's good to be back in the States again for we have a 15-day leave starting today. Wfe walk down the street to the Graham Brothers U- Rent-It, U-Drive-It Company. We rent a 1975 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe. Before we are barely under way some nit-wit nearly runs over us. As they zip past, we notice joan Hoover at the wheel with Grant Hockenberry at her side holding on for dear life. 1 Q 4 . ei sf 'R ui li ph 5 i ii Km Our first stop is for gas in Pittsburgh. Wfe pull up to a brand new Atlantic station and who walks out but Earl Barrick. XWhile he is filling our tank we chat with chief mechanic,'Merle Palmer. He informs us he is now en- gaged in fixing a demolished car in which our former classmate Ed Clouse went down over a 150-foot embank- ment. This tradegy occurred after colliding with Dixie Campbell and Cora Clugh. Fortunately no one was in- jured. We drive downtown for dinner and stop at Vifar- ner's Restaurant Where we find Doris Negley and Betty Piper working as xx aitresses While we are eating, we find we are enjoying Chef Bill Brownawell's Filet Mignon. CLASS PROPHECY Roy's wife, the former Loretta Rickabaugh, invites us to stay overnight and we gladly oblige. XVe're up bright and early and get on the road by eight o'clock to pick up our tickets for the annual Memorial Day Classic, the Indianapolis Soo, We take our seats and buy a program from the attendant, Don Hoover. As we look over the lineup, we see a few familiar names, such as WireWheel Webber, and Don Heishman. We see Heishman is driving for the rac- ing tycoon, Miss Ida McDermond. After an exciting and grueling lik hours of racing it's up to Throttle . g frofgi. Happy Ross Smith and Lead Foot jim Griffie. just as they come out of the fourth turn they clash and smash-up. Discouraged, we leave the track en- route to Hollywood, California. M. ,-' nf ini: L- pu . We drive continuously to Denver, Colorado, where we stopped at the new ultra-modern Mercy Hospital. While inside, we see jean Natcher at her job as receptionist. We talk to her for a few minutes and continue on our tour of the multi-million dollar hospital. Later we see Nancy Oiler and Theresa Piper serving as registered nurses. We walk along the hall with our former classmates till we come to the nursery. For curiosity we stop and look at the newly arrived infants. We notice one in particular, and we inquire, only to find it to be one of Lavana Graham's fnumber 75. We have wasted enough time and have to get on the road so we bid our classmates goodbye and set off for Hollywood. We pull in about 2 p.m. and head for the M.G.M. Studios to take a tour. We find Lawrence Kail posted as guard at the main gate. We flash our pass cards and go in. We walk to the main office where we see Doris Russell typing a script called GOOK -produced by the same studio that brought you BANG - OOP SHOUPH - SH BOOM - CLANG - FIZZLE - SHLIPT - PHFFFT. GOOK is starring Arthur Millhouse and Blanche Bouder with vocals by Marian Brandt. They are using the newly con- structed Studio 41 which was designed by architect Ron- ald Lehman.
