These students of B. S.H.S. in this picture are showing the influence of oil and cattle, a western trait, and its part in the progress of Big Spring. . LEADEIV OF TO ORROW Many of our present leaders in our student body will soon assume their civic and business responsibilities and occupy a prominent place in our progressive city. In the meantime they are receiving a basic foundation in leadership by actively engaging in the many clubs and organizations our campus. Big Spring now has six hospitals and as in everything else, Big Spring has earned the right to these splendid medical establishments, because it possesses the supplementary medical skills as a foundation. Medical progress is nec- essary before acity itself can progress, and Big Spring has progressed in both respects. Our citizens of tomorrow, the students of today, will strive to make this community of ours a greater and a more prosperous one. Through this 1959 annual we have endeavored to show that our school and community are closely linked. We have high hopes and con- fidence for the continued prosperity of our city and people.
