Principal's Message In looking back over the 1974-75 school year, I try to measure the success of the school by the product of the school. Some of the indicators, I feel, should be the results of nation-wide testing programs, such as ACT and P.S.A.T. and state-wide testing such as those given during High School Week in Bozeman. Other indicators might be the success of the activities of the school, such as speech, drama, music, science fairs, athletic teams, Future Farmer, and Future Homemaker associations. In all of these we have performed very well. In the testing areas, the results are very favorable over-all, and, in the activities, we have been exceptional, winning state recognition in all of the main classifications of speech, drama, music, sci- ence, athletics, F.F.A., F.H.A. and Yearbook. For these aqccomplishments I am proud of you. I thank the teacher, coaches, and sponsors for their long hours and sin- cerity. I congratulate the students on their success. I wish to congratulate Mrs. Ray and her staff for the all- state yearbook of 1974. My thanks to Mr. Nicolson and this years staff for their diligence and efforts in the production of the 1975 yearbook. I am sure it will be recognized as an outstanding book on the state level this year also. H. W. Hammond Mr. O'Malley's Message 0 Dear Class of '75 On this, the eve of our Bicentennial we should reflect upon many aspects of our society - and none could be more important than our educational system. If the young people of this community are a good sampling then I believe that our system is indeed working. You the Class of '75 must carry on this fine standard. I wish you the best of luck in any endeavor that you might choose. You are charged with a responsibility to make the most of yourself from the fine foundation that these years of high school have built for you. 9

Superintendent's Message As I began to write this message for the '75 Annual, I thought very hard as to what might be a good theme and kept recalling the Commencement Address delivered by a former graduate of Big Sandy High School. The speaker (Pete Madison) referred to all the help that this community had given to him and others to ensure their individual suc- cess. He talked of change over the past twenty years, and, after having served this community as Superintendent of Schools for a number of years, I believe that even though the comparisons he made relative to then and now were correct, this community is just as interested in young peo- ple today as it was in 1955. Certainly there have been many, many, changes which are much too numerous to mention; however, in considering our graduates I sincerely hope that our young people are still appreciative of the total education that this community has made available and that regardless of change they are will- ing to give a day’s work for a day’s pay. Congratulations to the Class of 1975. It is my sincere wish that each of you enjoy the success you so richly deserve. Boyd E.
