Speech Club Takes 2nd in State After qualifying 15 members at District, the Speech Club went on to take 2nd at the State Meet. Leading the way for the Club’s second place finish was Dolores Cikrit, left, who placed 2nd in the state in Expository Speaking. Also bringing points was the debate team of Kelly Jenkins and Ed Blazek, lower right, who placed 4th. In the area of Drama the team was not able to bring home a trophy, but one indi- vidual, Rusty Pegar, lower left, did a fine job by placing 2nd in Humorous Solo Acting. Under the expert leadership of Mr. Barsotti, far right, the Speech Club did very well this year. 24

Randy and Kathi Crowned Sno-Ball King and Queen The annual Sno-Ball dance, sponsored by FHA, was held December 30th with the follow- ing seniors chosen as candi- dates: Carol Cooke, Kathi Kulbeck, Dar Ophus, Randy Williams, Jim Drga, and Jack Halter. As the highlight of the even- ing, Randy Williams and Kathi Kulbeck were chosen as King and Queen. At left are Queen - Kathi Kulbeck and King - Randy Williams. The other four candidates are pictured below from left to right as Jim Drga, Carol Cooke, Dar Ophus and Jack Halter. 25
