Superintendent’s Message As we are in the process of ending the 1967-1968 school term and I have almost completed a full year as administrator of the Big Sandy Public Schools, I think it would be fitting to reflect a bit on what 1 believe to be true of its students past and present. It is apparent that the students of Big Sandy High School have continued, over the years, to excel in the various aspects of the educational program. Academic, music, athletics, pub- lications, and student government are just some of the portions of the program that have experienced great success. It is my hope that this trend will continue in the future and that graduates from Big Sandy High School participate actively in making this world a better place in which to live. Congratulations to the Class of 1968. May each of you have a successful and useful life. BOYD E. ROMINE J Minot State College, B. A., University of North Dakota, M. Ed., University of Montana, Superintendent 5

Principal’s Message HOWARD W. HAMMOND University of Montana, B.A., M.A., High School Principal, Mathematics, Honor Society, Student Council. An old Greek philosopher once said, You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him to find it within himself. If this is true to any degree, it is my sincere hope that we have helped each student in some way to discover new and stimulating ideas within himself which will enable him to live in this present-day society as a happy, successful human being. It is also my wish that a sense of responsibility be one of these discoveries, responsibility based on love, justice, and compas- sion. The many extra hours of work by students, staff, and advisor to bring about the successful completion of this fine annual is real evidence of a keen sense of responsibility. I wish to congratulate the co-editors, Carol Chauvet and Cheryl Rutledge, and Mr. Les Graham, their advisor, on a job well done. 6
