IAN EGOISTICAL, HYPOTHETICAL SATIRE TO MOTHER NATURE'S UNHABITUAL BEAUTY, DO DEGRADE, KNEEL AND BOW DOWN TO YOU AND CONSUMMATE ANY OBLIGATION THAT YOU APPENTANCY, OH POTENTATE SENIORS. This was probably the first thing that was assigned for us to learn in the fall of '52 when we entered B. S. H. S. The first three weeks of school were spent getting acquainted with the new ideas, electing class officers, and carrying out the orders of the almighty seniors! ! We elected class officers on September 3rd. They were President, Charlotte Svennungsen; Vice President, Esther Berg; Secretary-Treasurer, Arlene Fisher; Student Council Representative, Arrie Maxwell; Cheerleader, Mary Ann Pfrimmer; and Mrs. Bierwagon was elected as our class sponsor. The remainder of the class was David Eve, Normand Clixby, Lawrence Diacon, Frank Henderson, Gary Henderson, Larry Jappe, Sandra Kaiser, Ethel Kalanick, Janis Kaste, Robert Laursen, Veva Marten, Arlen Ojala, Byron Ophus, Milan Pavlovick, Jim Peterson, Vera Sanford and Raymond Williams. We thanked the Seniors for the sumptuous acquaintance they gave us to the school by having a Freshman Return Party in honor of them. In our second six weeks of school we had a new face in our midst, Maureen Melton from Havre Central. Due to the fact that our class didn't sell enough Activity tickets we were given the honor of putting on the Activity Ticket Party which turned out very successful. Next, on the list of coming events was the carnival. We elected Maureen Melton and Larry Jappe as our choice for king and queen but failed to win the crown. At the beginning of the 2nd semester we were sorry to discover that we had lost Raymond Williams. The remainder of the year was quite uneventful and we left with the happy feeling that we were now sophomores. 16

tie ii en of iiudiitioi It was the night of Graduation And all through the hall, The Seniors were stirring Not one; but all. The books were all put On the Shelves with care, And with sighs of relief The Seniors left them there. The Grad's all filed Up the long, long aisle. And took their seats With a sad little smile. They are just realizing That they are almost through, And going out into the world Which to them is still so new. All these thoughts Are passing through their heads. And they are fast beginning To think of it with dread. The address has now been given. The class roll is being called: Esther, Normand, Hap, Larry, Charlotte, Stan, Ethel, Arrie, And Sandra, a good friend of all, Byron, Vera, Larry, Arlen, Veva, Janis, Bob and Milan. Yes, all seventeen are here. To make complete Their last High School year. The diplomas have been received. And now the Seniors stand To receive the Lord's Blessing That will guide them o'er the land. by Arrie Maxwell

When we returned the fall of '53 we discovered that we had lost Frank Hender- son. He had transferred to Havre. Lynn Johnson joined our class for a short time. We elected class officers and sponsor who were: President, Larry Diacon; Vice President, Arlen Ojala; Secretary and Treasurer, Esther Berg; Student Council Representative, Sandra Kaiser and Sponsor, Mr. Ost. Because we made such a success of the activity ticket party in '52 we were given the honor of doing so again in '53. It seemed to be a highlight in our high school years. This year our candidates for carnival king and queen were Charlotte Svennung- sen and Larry Diacon. But again we weren't the choice of the public. We carried out the tradition of the sophomores putting on the Athletic Banquet, on April 28, 1954. It was well attended. Spring was in the air and it was once again Prom T-ime , and with the Prom comes the Junior-Senior Banquet. The sophomore girls were selected to serve at the banquet. Since spring fever was getting the best of us, Mr. Ost took the biology class on a field trip in the mountains. A very enjoyable day was spent there. To climax our sophomore year Maureen Melton was elected from our class to ride on the Chamber of Commerce float at the May Festival in Havre on May 8, 1954. We came back in the fall of '54 quite enthusiastic with the idea that we were now upperclassmen. David Eve had transferred to Great Falls, but to replace him was Stan Tichenor from Seattle. The officers elected this year were: President, Larry Diacon; Vice President, Janis Kaste; Secretary and Treasurer, Esther Berg; Student Council Representa- tive, Sandra Kaiser and Mr. Burley was chosen as class sponsor. Mary Ann Pfrimmer resigned as cheerleader and Charlotte Svennungsen was elected to re- place her. We lost the Activity Ticket Sales again this year and had to put on the party, October 19, 1954. On November 20, the carnival was held and we nominated Sandra Kaiser and Nor- mand Clixby as our candidates for king and queen. The high lights for that year were the Junior Play, Meet Corliss Archer and the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. Our play was held April 18 and 19, and went over as a big hit with lots of laughs. Underwater was our Prom Theme and we carried it out throughout the banquet. A very beautiful job of decorating was done by the Juniors, which kept them busy until tne last minute. We danced to the music of The Melody Makers from Havre. FIELD TRIP MEET CORLISS ARCHER 7
