The 50-piece Big Sandy High School Band assumed many wartime duties this year. Some of these, such as playing at the depot for selectees, and ad- vertising the school scrap drive are shown on other pages. The usual skilled instruction for members and high calibre performance was maintained, however, the rendition of Bee- thoven's Fifth Symphony and Schubert's Unfinished Sym- phony was outstanding. Train- ing in the use of various office ma- chines as well as Shorthand and Bookkeeping is given here.
