MAGAZINE SALES Mr R, A Emnons, a represent t1ve of the C'1lI't1S Publishing Oompany, v1s1ted the school on September 22nd, and made arrange- ments for the studerts to sell magazlnes Each class had then' team captam They were as follows Slxth and Seventh, Donna James, Elghth, Warren Vlckery, Freshman Jeanene Boyce, Sophomores, Delbert Podschw1t, Junior, Janlce Le1fhe.1.t, and Senlors, Patsy Urmsby To encourage the students to sell more magaz1nes, there was a drawing each day for 35 or more The names of all the students were placed 1n a box and each day a name was drawn If that person had sold a subscrlptlon, he recelved 35 or more if no one had won the previous day The winners of the prize money were Rlchard Snedeker, 456, Thomas Davls, 38, and Jzun Blehl, S7 The total sales amounted to Wm? OO, and of th1s the school The winrnng team was the elghth grade vrlth a total of 0195 50 Deanna Evans was the hlgh salesman with 578 50 FRESIMAN INITIATION The freshman 1n1tiat1on was held on Fraday, September 30 Dur :mg the day the freshman wore costumes whlch were very funny They were also requlred to carry the semors books to and from classes That evenzug a part was held at 7 30 ln the gymnasium ln honor of the freshman ghey presented a program oons1stigg of piano solos by Joanne Biehl and Mary A1106 Ervtm bugle solo by Gerald Askms, poem- The Goose egg, by Joanne giehj., tap dance by Donna Anderson, Lois Coster, and Susannah Aliredson, sk1t-- In the Best of Famille s, by Fmlly Fl1nt and Donna Anderson, ard a mother skltf- The Saga of Llttle Nell, by the freshman Follonng these numbers each fresunan was asked 'oo do a stunt on the stage The students then danced to records, and refresh ments were served This concluded a very engoyeble evenlng . . an . . .
