F. F. A. TRIP TO IOWA WE LEFT BIG PINEY ON SEPTEMBER 23 AND ARRIVED IN LARAMIE THAT EVENING. AFTER WE HAD EATEN, WE WENT TO THE AGRICULTURE BUILDING ON THE UNIVERSITY or WYOMING CAMPUS TO REGISTER IN THE DAIRY JUDGING CONTEST. EARLY THE NEXT MORNING WE REPORTED TO THE AGRICULTURE BUILDING TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS ON JUDGING FIVE CLASSES OF CATTLE. THREE WERE TO BE JUDGED ON TYPE, TWO ON TYPE AND PRODUCTION, AND ONE CLASS ON TYPE, PRODUCTION, AND PEDIGREE. SATURDAY MORNING WE WENT TO THE AGRICULTURE BUILDING WHERE WE RECEIVED OUR SCORES AND DISCOVERED WE HAD WON THE DAIRY CATTLE THEN WE WENT AWARDS. OUR TEAMS IN THE PLACE IN THE JUDGING. WE WENT DOWNTOWN AND MET MR, FARMERS TO THE STUDENT UNION TO RECEIVE OUR TROPHY AND TEAM PLACED FIFTH OUT OF TWENTY-SIX COMPETING LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST. BOB NOBLE WON SECOND STATE DAIRY JUDGING. SUNDAY MORNING WE LEFT FOR WATERLOO, IOWA, STOPPING AT SEVERAL RANCHES ALONG THE WAY TO JUDGE CATTLE. .AS THE LIVE- STOCK JUDGING IN WATERLOO DIDN'T START UNTIL THURSDAY, WE SPENT PART OF OUR TIME VISITING THE FAIR GROUNDS ATTENDING Q THE STOCK SHOW AND CARNIVAL. WE ALSO MAKE AN INTERESTING TOUR THROUGH THE JOHN DEERE TRACTOR FACTORY AND THE ROTH PACKING PLANT. THURSDAY MORNING WE WENT DOWN TO THE FAIR GROUNDS TO THE BIG TENT WHERE THEY HAD NINE CLASSES OF CATTLE. JERRY FARMER RECEIVED THE SILVER AWARD IN THE NATIONAL CONTEST. WE WENT TO A BANQUET THAT NIGHT AND STARTED HOME THE NEXT MORNING.
