SENIOR PROPHECY CONTINUED Once over the U.S. border we noticed that we were running low on fuel and refreshments and the nearest airport was in Texas. We happily landed and put the jet in the care of the nearest airport attendant. We dropped into the nearest honky tonk which happened to be the hugest anyone had ever seen. As we took our seats near the stage, a very familiar man entered onto the stage to introduce the next act. We all recognized him as the one and only John Leonard. As he stepped off the stage he noticed us wa ving at him and he happily came over to join us. We were informed that he and Ric had become very successful in the honky tonk and were now close to becoming millionaires, but he still wasn 't good enough to sing on stage. After wa tching the show, everybody headed towards the rear exit so We all followed. Joey Chitwoodis Stunt Show was just getting underway in the back arena. It was an excellent show and the star stunt drivers turned out to be Don Witherspoon in a V. W. and Da vid Bear in a Jeep. During the show they jumped rivers fDon fell inj, barrels, and other cars. The grand finale featured them rolling their cars all the way across the M1 mile arena. We ran out to see of they had survived and they had. Being happy to see us all, they quit their jobs just so that they could be at the reunion. Our party was getting pretty big by now, so we decided that it would be better to go the rest of the .wa y to B.P. by bus. As we entered the Charter Bus Lines Station, there was only one bus and bus driver left. The driver turned out to be Harv, who gladly said he would drive us back to Big Pine. Once again we were on the road. Not wanting to miss any fun, we stopped in Las Vegas to play some slots. We all checked into MGM and got all of their suites for the night. After a la te night jacuzze and dinner we headed forthe casino. It was a very prosperous night for all of us except Onat who couldn 't understand how to gamble legally. Cliff hit the million dollar jackpot just as we were about to call it a night. We all felt like fainting as the owner of the casino came out to give Cliff a check for the amount of one million dollars. It was Tim fPreppyj Pearce. Tim had done well for himself but informed us that he would not be able to make it to the reunion. He had to stay at work for the weekend because his partner was out of town. Sooner than we knew it we were back in Big Pine at Country Kitchen talking to John Howell, who was still washing dishes. He said that he would join us tomorrow, Saturday, if his Jeep was unstuck from the mud by then. Since it was Friday morning, we all decided to go down to the school and say Hi to all our old teachers. It was pretty strange to Hnd that Sharron Duckey was teaching the fifth grade, Michelle Bacoch was coaching the girls basketball team, Da vid Venters was teaching Science and a Computer class while coaching BPHS football, and Carol Casperson was now the school missionary. All four of them said that they would be at the park on Saturday for the reunion. We all decided to go to Bishop to kill the time until nightfall, so we all headed north, on the back road of course. All too soon we were in Bishop. As we walked around noting all the changes that had occurred in ten years, we noticed that the name of Marjorie Da vid was occupying a plaque on the door of the Indian Law Office. We all dropped in to say Hi and to inform her of the reunion. Then we headed towards the nearest refreshment stand, on the way Howie fell down and scraped himself really bad. We had to take him to the hospital. The emergency room was empty so it didn 't take long for Howie to be wrapped up. I guess we were making quite a bit of noise, so we weren't surprised to see the nurse come out to tell us to quite down, but we were surprised to see that the nurse was Suzanne Story. She was more than happy to join us for the pre-celebration that night. At the celebration we all laughed and talked and scattered pretty quick when a car came driving up. It was Rob Vance who was now coaching the Los Angeles Dodgers. He happily joined our party. The next day will be remembered for years to come, especially by Jamery Ray.
