Darrell Howard, head chef at the Bona venture Hotel in Los Angeles, confered with Rohn Everson who was underwriting the cost of the food for chef Darrell's gourmet dinners. Rohn is a self-made millionare due to the success of his Solar Company. Tina Phifer was on the grounds of the hotel checking out the various flowers and fauna of the island. Tina is a director of the San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation. Kim Montejano was close by, taking pictures of all the people at the reunion. Kim is a highly successful professional photographer, and has had several books of her work published. While everyone was socializing at the sunset party on the beach we found Wende Hinkley deeply absorbed in painting the beautiful Ha waiian sunset. She was prepar- ing for her one-woman exhibit in Hawaii. Linda Grubb, owner of the Santa Anita Stables, was at the party in her riding tinery. She had just come from participating in the Hunt Class of the annual Hawaii International Horse Show. Roland Duckey drove up in a rented Corvette. He owns several classic sports cars and has them on display at his Sports Car Specialty Shop in San Bernardino. Moving from group-to-group was L-eon Gardner, Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was extolling the great life of the Corp. He had come from special duty in Brazil and was headed for extended duty in Iceland. Everyone then began to notice the mysterious man in the trench coat. Linda immediately recognized that it was Jesse Smith! Jesse was now with the American Secret Service. He was no special duty to protect all the famous people at the reunion. The class of 1983 had such a good time at this reunion that we all promised ourselves we would meet again in another 10 years. The place to be announced.
