a game. The hours spent on the practice floor means victory at the games. With the cheerleaders shouting out the cheers and the spectators echoing them, the contest becomes keener and keener. The basketball rolls around the rim of the basket undecided; the volleyball hovers at the top of the net; the baseball stuck in mid air. Will there be shouts of joy or cries of dis- may ? All of these moments lend to the excitement of an athletic event here at Big Island High School. Always ready to cheer the team on is the one goal of our cheerleaders. 10

and TJaried dlclivities . . The bi-monthly assemblies bring us together with speakers of varied and different backgrounds who share their knowledge and wisdom with the students. At other times students are featured in the assembly. It may be the pastor next door, a world traveler, an exchange student or a Big Island native back home from Brazil. All of it lends interest and diversity to the assemblies. President Bob Trevey dis- cussing S.C.A. plans with some of his officers. S.C.A. Vice-president looks over an outline of a program to be presented to the student body. 9
