urmcj our Life at Big Island High School is not all rules, book reports, term papers, pop quiz and ball practice. Some of the classroom work is turned into fun, a party now and then, recalling past experiences and planning for ac- tivities when school is over makes every day full of anticipation. Remember trying our acting ability as Shake- spearean players? Mrs. Neal at her surprise birthday party. A bit of fun at the lake will make for good conversa- tion at school next winter. S7nfo the ( ) ass room . . Settling the economic problems of the world in Mr. Adkins ' Economics class. Within the classrooms of our school is taught more than ' reading, ' riting and ' rithmetic. Those interested in thewhyandhow of life are introduced to the mysteries of the sciences; hear the click, click of typewriters, the hum of sewing machines, or the Latin and French classes con- jugating a verb. All of these are aimed at preparing us for a big-wide-wonderful world. Nancy Blakenship, Sandra Snead, Dana Humphries, San- dra Spence, Helen Peters and Betty Trevey display a project for Mrs. Freeman ' s General Science class.

and TJaried dlclivities . . The bi-monthly assemblies bring us together with speakers of varied and different backgrounds who share their knowledge and wisdom with the students. At other times students are featured in the assembly. It may be the pastor next door, a world traveler, an exchange student or a Big Island native back home from Brazil. All of it lends interest and diversity to the assemblies. President Bob Trevey dis- cussing S.C.A. plans with some of his officers. S.C.A. Vice-president looks over an outline of a program to be presented to the student body. 9
