Before us lie many distant paths Which will take each of us to his own destiny. The time is near, when we must take our first steps toward the future. But before that, there is time to pause and remember a few of the memories of the past .... We will never forget -- . . . that exciting day when we ordered our class rings . . . . . . the night we set forth for the Junior-Senior Banquet . . . . . . the days it snowed and the holidays from school we had . . . . . . the many days we struggled for ads for the yearbook . . . . . . the rush we had to get the Telletorium out on time . . . ... In Government class, Mr. Adkins’s persistent Shhhhhhh! ... . . . Mrs. Neal ' s commands, Close your books, get out pencils and paper . . . . . . the rush, primp and smile of picture taking . . . . . . and most of all those exams . . . . . . Stuart ' s friendly arguments with Mrs. Neal . . . . . . the excitement of winning the first game of basketball season . . . . . . running to the library at the last minute for book reports and term papers . . . . . . Mr. Wooldridge reminding us to make more money . . . . . . our friendly good-mornings and good-byes . . . . . . and when 3:00 rolled around, how good it felt . . . . . . the wonder of our last Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter before graduation . . . . . . the importance of our senior year in school . . . . . . Sandra and Bernice busy working on the yearbook . . . . . . the special qualities of each of our fellow seniors . . . . . . our many teachers who have taught us . . . ... and finally GRADUATION NIGHT . . . But there is only space for a moments pause, even as we stand here, now the excitement of the future beckons . . . We, the Senior Class are . . . like a man who upon leaving a town for the last time does not say ' The town is near ' , but turns his eyes toward the distant soaring ranges ... - Thomas Wolfe in LOOK HOMEWARD ANGEL 51 f X tJUL jLAjLj JL jiAjt xj 7 Xb jb 6 J- X-XjLj d £ yt c 4_s m i yj y ' tL yiJL.
