PERMANENT RECORD OF YOUR SCHOOL MEMORIES PUBLICATION This is your yearbook. It is a record of treasured memories. It is a priceless keepsake that cannot be re¬ placed. It will last a lifetime if treated with care. Handle it as you would any other new book. Open it first down the center and press gently with the palm of your hands. Then begin to open it to other places following the same procedure, until you have opened every page, from cover to cover. This will avoid undue strain on the binding. Do not store your book close to extreme heat, such os a radiator or heat duct. Do not leave it lying in the hot sun; it is fresh off the press and must have time to cure thoroughly before it is handled too much. Avoid getting it wet. Paper will soak up water. Any abuse will damage your book. Careful obser¬ vance of these instructions will help to make your book a lasting record of happy memories. Good luck! D E L M A R Charlotte, N. C. Class Testators Myrtle Tolley Ann Tomlinson Sail the lakes of ambition and land on the shores of success! Blue and White Pink Carnation 19 Class Pr ophecu The first person I find on my list of long-lost friends is Mike Brown. He now lives in Washington, D. C. When not on a leisurely vacation he is playing football for the Washington Red Skins. Mike is still single and totally unin- erested in women. Having been given information regarding the whereabouts of Neil Casto by Mike, I set out to West Wayco, Texas. I find Neil the sophisticated owner of a 500, 000 acre spread. I find also that he has just retired from pro -basketball, having been employed with the Globe Trotters. He is engaged to a lady Texan industrialist by the name of Truly Tree. By virtue of a pecan advertisement which I received in the mail, I learned that Lawless Camden resides in Jackson, Mississippi, andhas possession of a 500 acre pecan orchard. He is happily married to the former Brenda Ross. They have two darling boys. Lawless told me where I might find our old clas s- mate. Bud Burks, so off I go again. After a hectic journey I reached Las Vagas, Nev., where Bud owns a Lincoln-Mer cury Franchise. Bud also is a member of a hot rod fan club. He has been engaged to Norma Jean Gallaher for five months. He plans to marry this coming spring. I check once again in my little black book and find that the next person whom I was to visit was Robert Cheatham. Robert is a minister at Hunting River Church. He is married to Dorthy Dolly. Robert now resides in Bedford, Virginia. To my delight my next journey is only a very short one. I cruise about 5 miles down toward my old home town of Big Island. To my pleasant surprise what do I find but a sign which ‘reads as follows: Massie Apple Corporation. I find Freddrick working in his large apple orchard. He has as his secretary Jeanne Ramsey. Jeanne is a graduate of Big Island and a former classmate of mine. She attended Phillip's Business College for two years. She is a first class Secretary and is unmarried but is looking for a husband. 20 Class Prophecy As I cruise on the way to New Orleans, the southern coast of North America, I find my old classmate Billy Hudson. Billy is a prosperous cattle dealer and his franchise is located at the Port of New Orleans. He deals in cattle that are shipped all over the world. Before my extensive journey to New York, I wheeled in at an Alabama gas station. A sign read Williams Service Station, Inc. This looked very familiar tome. Ifoundmy dear cousin is the proprietor of this and seven other service stations located all over the Atlantic Coast. Kyle is happily married to the for¬ mer Wisconsin girl, Carolyn Edens. They make their home in a spacious Ala¬ bama Southern Mansion. They have three little Williams. Having gassed my car I set out for my thousand mile journey to New York city. There at the world renowned Wall Street, I find my past classmate, Danny Mason. Danny is single and has a gold mine as a journalist for a Wall Street concern. He attended Lynchburg College and received his degree from Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va. Danny is very happy with his occupation. Now I skip over to Broadway where the famous singer Marilyn Barker, better known as Patsy F eagans to us, is starring in a Broadway production, The lost Husband . She is married to Curtis Barker the famous Movie Star, and they have five little stars to be. I now head due southwest straight for Las Vagas, Nev. As I arrive, I spy the Silver Star , one of the long established Las Vagas gambling houses. As I pass through the swinging doors, a familiar figure confronts me. It is that of my old classmate Kay Hensley. Kay is the proud proprietor of the thriving shop. She is often referred to as Diamond Kate and she is unmarried at present but has many pursuers. I now go across the state border into sunny California, and at the Univer¬ sity of California, located in Los Angeles, California, I find my dear classmate Betty St. John. Betty is now a well respected Physical Education Teacher at 21 Class Prophecy this institution, and many of her students have become world renowned. She is married to a four-star General of the United States Air Force, better known to you as Barry Spence. They now make their home in a large penthouse over looking the ocean in Los Angeles. After visiting Betty, I return to the Old Dominion and decide to look up some old classmates around home. I find that the former Jeanine Goff is hap¬ pily married to her beloved Elmer Hatcher. Elmer owns the large Hatcher Trucking Company, Inc. The firms headquarter s is at Bedford, Va. They have been married for 21 years and have three grandchildren. I find that my former classmate Rachel Branch lives only a stones throw from Jeanine. She is married to her first love Carlton Toms. They are both employed in his thriving business Toms Ford-Mercury Co., Inc. They have one son who is also employed with the concern. On my way to Roanoke to visit another of my friends, I discovered a gigan¬ tic used auto parts business concern. The name Wilson-Wilson-Peter s Auto Parts sounded familiar to me, so I turned in there. I learned that my former classmates James Peters, Maynard Wilson and Ray Wilson own a chain of wholesale stores which deal exclusively in auto parts. On arrival in Roanoke I found that my old classmate. Myrtle Tolley was happily employed with a Roanoke business firm. She occupies the position of Vice-President. Myrtle is still single but the young men give her a hard time. After boarding an airliner, I take off for the faraway land of Turkey. There I find Mr. Robert Edens and wife, the former Miss Eleanor Tomlin. She and Mr. Edens have spent many years in Turkey but now are ready to return to America. As of now they have no children. When I return to the states, I find the former Ann Tomlinson residing in Bedford. She is happily married to a young business man. Her husband owns a chain of Super Markets and is succeeding very well. They have one child. 22 Class Pvopdecy Now I find it necessary to abandon my luxurious cruiser and to board an¬ other airliner. This being my last visit, I plan to wind up with a bang. It cer¬ tainly feels good to get back to familiar scenes of this country. This is what I wish to say when I return to the town of Bedford. However, a large new factory caught any one going by. I find that my former classmates Elsie Goff and Norma Wilson, who were very close in school, have formed a partnership and now own the large clothing factory. As I near the end of my friend finding journey I have still got one more flight to make. This time it takes me to Ontario, Canada. There I find my classmate, Corretta Hensley, who is now Mrs. Clarence Taylor. They have three children. He is about to climax his career with the Air Force and re¬ turn to the states. It certainly feels nice to settle down for the nice ride back to my home. The visit has been a complete success. I have mentioned all my classmates except one, me. I will try to tell you a little of myself. I'm a very successful Architect in New York and have my own business. I am still very much single but have little names in my black book. Well enough is enough and besides I am tired from my very tiring journey, so until a later date, so long. 23 Snapshots New York or bust Prom Night The Three Stooges Smile ! Lunch Ready?
