Complimenlr of THE HIGHLANDER HOTEL PRESIDENT BOB BURTON Student Kauucil The Student Council headed by President Bob Burton, supported many of the school activities this year. A few of these were: the Freshman Initiations, the visit of Avalon High School and their basketball team and the Homecoming Dance on all of which they did an excellent job. The Student Body Cards this year were red with white for the year and white for the semester. Alonzo Duce Denos was elected as Vice President with Lois Radtke, Secretaryg jeane Carroll, Treasurerg Frances Harkness, Social Chairmang Buddy McEuen, Publicity Chairman and Jim Boarts, Athletic Chairman. Bert Wirbex lo the Clan of 55 B. E. GODWIN, M. D. PRESIDENT JIM DICKENSON Varsity 61110 jim Dickenson was elected President of the Varsity Club this year with Coach Joaquin Acosta sponsor. New members were taken in with an initiation that was a great success. Varsity Club Shields were designed and ordered along with year numerals. A. had a very successful year under the leadership of Miss joy Risser and President Phyllis Hornbeak, with the help of her officers who were: Vice President, Marie Camomileg Secretary, Gloria Rhodes and Point Recorder, Liz Knight. Their activities included horseback rides, wiener bakes, bowling, skiing, and play days with other schools to mention but a few. The climax of the year was a combination initiation and slumber party held early in March.
