New Perspectives Open Up for Seniors Looking into the past, seniors could see signs of triumph and tragedy that marked their four years at Bexley High School. Although “An Award Winning Film” did not take the top honors in the float competition, “Gone with the Wind” proved to be one of the most imagi- native and successful proms held at Bexley. Freshman foul-ups, sophomore stubbornness, junior college boards, and finally “senioritis” took their toll and became memories. In athletics, the Senior Class had some of the most outstanding sportsmen in Bexley history. Members of the Class of 1969 participated in winning seasons in all varsity sports. Girls’ sports were also exceptional; the girls’ hockey team won Hockey Night three years in a row and varsity basketball had excellent records of competition. The Senior Class had no lack of scholars. There were three National Merit Semi- Finalists. Senior members contributed substantially to the Bexley team’s success on the “In the Know” program. Several seniors took part in journalistic competition and others made excellent scores on the Mathematics As- sociation of America test. Several members of the class won college scholarships. Bexley sen- iors also participated in such programs as the “Conference on the Atom” and Buckeye Boys’ and Girls’ States. As they looked to the future, a whole new world opened up for the graduated Class of 1969. Many went into college, while others en- tered training for their careers.
