Participates in Bexley Activities Mr. C. W. Jones, principal Mr. James Ferns, assistant principal Everyone views Bexley in a different perspective. The ten teachers new to Bexley saw our school for the first time. Per- haps they noticed the competitive spirit of the Bexley stu- dents. In addition, they may have participated in our exten- sive extracurricular activities by performing in the Band Parents Show, coaching and assisting with sports events, and chaperoning our dances. Even the teachers who had been at Bexley previously noticed a change in our student body. They saw our undaunted spirit and our perseverance in all events. Certainly every faculty member heard the ex- cited chatter and shouted greetings that punctuated the time between classes. The Faculty Observes andi Dr. William J. Gregg, Superintendent Dear Students, Consider, if you will, the lot of the poor carpet beetle, who spends his total lifetime in the limited confines of a dark and dismal world. Contrast him, then, with the free and soaring eagle, who views with majesty the pan- orama of a constantly changing landscape beneath his widespread wings. For the class that has chosen “Perspectives” as its yearbook theme, it will be easy to see the meaning of the two illustrations above. As freshman students, you appeared on the scene with a somewhat limited view of the future. Now as graduating seniors you have exper- ienced the joy of seeing your perspectives expand to in- clude the wider world beyond. As you prepare to leave Bexley High School for the new life ahead, it is our sincere hope that you may now and again be reminded of this book’s theme. In these confused and rapidly changing times, the world of to- morrow may offer sorrow and despair for those of small vision and narrow perspective. But for those who would constantly seek to expand their horizons, from the “bug’s eye view” to the “bird’s eye view,” the future will offer unlimited opportunity and challenge. With faith in your ability to meet these great new challenges, I offer you my warmest regards and very best wishes for continued success. Sincerely, William J.
