School benefits from new aids Newness has been the theme at Bexley High School this year. School was started with the advent of the new IBM system, which replaced the former method of categorizing students and completing their report cards by hand following each six weeks. Teachers and students alike were given the benefit of new textbooks, which were designed to improve the learning process. Spanish and history classes were among those receiving the new books. According to the new Public Law 89-10, Bexley was entitled to aid from the federal government, which provided students attending summer school with a wider variety of subjects. A humanities course, consisting of movies on the humanities will be offered for the first time because of this federal aid. Also newly offered to summer school students are various academic courses, designed to help those students who need extra help. Among these are Spanish I, Spanish II, geometry, and general math. The fundamentals of radio, a newly organized course, will be offered too. A final addition to Bexley High School will be this year’s senior class gift, a large stuffed lion to be placed in a glass case for the benefit of the entire student body.
