The purpose was to compare n schools to our own. Other interesting programs provided by a speaker from the Columbus Day .sery for the Deaf and the Annual Teachers' Tea. :adership was provided by Patty Lutzy, president, e Bensky, vice-president, Dina Flaum, secretary- urerg and Maridean Close, faculty advisor. Music Club This year Music Club has tried to interest their mem- bers in all phases of music. They did this by means of their programs. There was a demonstration of how bands are taught to march, and also a program on how to play a harp. In January Careers in Music was their topic of discussion. At other meetings they had a dis- play of talent from Capital University, Eastmoor High School, and our own school. To end the year, Music Club had a picnic and entertainment at the effrey Man- sion. A new addition to the Music Club t is year was a publicity committee which handled all the publicity for any musical event in the school. The club also assisted in the March of Dimes campaign and other charitable drives. Sam McCavran served as this yearis president. Assist- ing' him were Alfred Hawraney, vice-president, Tex Pritchett, secretary-treasurer, Ron Culbertson, chaplain, Dick Stevens, council representative, and Mr. Tong, faculty advisor. Varsity B Any boy who receives a letter in interscholastic c petition is eligible for membership in Varsity-B. purpose of the organization is to promote good spo manship and school spirit. Leadership was provided by Ron Culbertson, pr dent, Tom Tussing, vice president, Sam McCandl secretary-treasurer, and Ben Tenwalde, adviser. Dramatics Club Evidence of the increasing interest in dramatics is the large membership of Dramatics Club. President Kay hart supervised the numerous activities this year. ln November the club undertook its most difficult project, the presentation of Teahouse of the August ll Since this was the only presentation by the club this year, every effort was made to make it a success. Ex costumes, outstanding make-up, and fine acting were but a few of the factors responsible for the success of the tw Japanese saga. In December the entire club motored to Otterbein University to see The Diary of Anne Franke. Other ii ing programs included attending a clinic at Ghio State University and witnessing the dress rehearsal of Lute presented by the Players' Club. New members of National Tliespian were initiated at the annual Dramatics picnic in May. Assisting the president were Mike Friedman, vice-president, Carole Jollide, secretary, Joan Edmonds, trc and Mrs. Sarah Buchanan, faculty advisor.
