Otto Frank fDavid Schwimmerl reads Anne's diary which he found upon returning to the secret annex flower leftl. -3 2 ,4 fliiv. ,N Fall Play 'AnnegFl'ank'mrings true The ensemble production of Diary of Anne Frank proved to be a well- received version of the famous, true story of a young girl's experience during the holocaust. The play ran from Nov. 2- 5 in the Little Theater, selling out at each performance. Carolyn Ginsburg as Anne, Kim Weiner as Margot, Jill Osmon as Mrs. Frank and David Schwimmer as Mr. Frank made up the Frank family. The Van Daan family was portrayed by Tim Robinson as Peter, Tasha Thomas as Mrs. Van Daan, and Eddie Ring as Mr. Van Daan. Peter Shore as Mr. Dussell, Michaelle Burstin as Miep, and Saul Kot- zubei as Mr. Krahler completed the cast. Rather than focusing on the holocaust, the play dealt with people living together in a pressure situation. Faculty Director Andy Grenier saw it as an intense char- acter playg a real life situation. During a summer trip to Amsterdam, Grenier took photos of the actual rooms Anne Frank lived in, and by researching the architecture of the period the crew fheaded by set director Robert Sebell was able to create a believable environ- ment. The close distance between the performers and the audience in the Little Theater makes a performance special, and this effect was especially evident in Anne Frank. Fan Play o 25
