The future of yesterday is upon us Past: 1 . Having existed or occurred in an earlier time, bygone. 2. The time before the present. D Present: 1 . A moment or period in time intermediate between past and futureg now. 2. Being or occurring at the present time. Future: 1 . Time that has yet to come. 2. The We or experiences that are yet to comefor aperson. Today is the future of yesterday and the past of tomorrow. Today one has the chance to make tomorrow's past a happy one and yesterdayls future a success. High-technology which started in the past and is still continuing in the present will advance at an ever-increasing rate in the future. The government has been overwrought with technology. The space program has been highly advanced in the past and promises to be so in the future. Today, the space shuttle, one of this era's most significant accomplish- ments, thrusts us into a new world to explore. In the future, President Reagan proposed a space station as part of the space program. Another facet of our world of technology is the onslaught of home computers. Computers such as the lBlVIpc, the Coleco Adam, the Atari 800, and the Apple II are all common in the home's of Beverly students. These com- puters are not simply Mtoys of computer whiz kids, but also have educa- tional value. Sometime in the future, it is possible that they will be a student's principal resource for knowledge. Schools themselves will proba- bly change drastically in the future as they have in the past. To some people, school is not important today, but in the future these people will look back on the days of the past and their successes and failures, their happiness and sorrow, and all of those occurrences and emotions in be- tween. However, people will always be looking forward, toward their ex- pectation of the future. It is to these thoughts that this yearbook is written, the thoughts of the future.
